You Are Complete In Him

Devotional by Cheryl Hall-Laos

There is nothing more beautiful than a new convert to faith in Christ. There is a joy that overcomes them, and tears of thankfulness flow when songs of praise are sung. I love to see pictures of tribes before the gospel came to them, and after. Their sullen, empty expressions are now filled with joy that cannot be contained. Eyes that once held an untrustworthy darkness, now sparkle with the Fresh Water of Life in Christ. The Apostle Paul, encouraged the church at Colossi, to fully grasp the greatness of what they have in Christ…

“Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high sounding nonsense that comes from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you are also COMPLETE through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.” (Colossians 2:8-10)

From biblical times till now, we can hear the “new philosophies” and the “progressive way of thinking,” being forced upon society as though the former ways are outdated and even offensive. But, in Christ, we know we are given Truth and Authority that is above all deceiving spirits, and we have ALL we need for walking in victory in spite of this evil age.

What a treasure it is to be His and to not be subject to this confusion that is saturating society. “God has made you alive in Christ, for He FORGAVE all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, He DISARMED the spiritual rulers and authorities. You have died with Christ, and He has set you FREE from the spiritual powers of this world. (Collisions 2:13-20)

Dear ones, may we grasp the treasure we have in Christ. We are forgiven and set free; evil forces have been disarmed against the mighty power of Christ in our lives, and in Him, praise God, we are COMPLETE! May we endure in this knowledge and strength until He comes to take us Home.

Hallelujah!
