Whatever You Do

In an age of “bigger is better,” small things have been disregarded as having little or no value. However, many small things have a greatness that cannot be measured. Small rudders direct huge ships, and small hooks land large fish. Small children have immense power to wrap fathers around little fingers and melt mother’s hearts. A little sugar sweetens the tea, and a kind word or smile can brighten an entire day. An ounce of courtesy will gain more respect than a pound of threats.

This is also true in the spiritual realm. A small boy’s lunch was blessed by Jesus and fed thousands of hungry travelers. A small stone in David’s sling took down a giant, and inspired soldiers to win the war. A cup of cold water to a thirsty child is worthy of God’s reward. Faith as a grain of mustard seed can remove mountains, and the fervent prayers of one righteous person can chase the devil and bless a nation.

There are many things in this life that seem overwhelming. Enemy forces would like us to think they are bigger, better, stronger, and tougher. But there is One who entered this world as a Babe in Bethlehem and never has there been anyone so underestimated! Considered “small and despised” by earthly leaders, His death on the cross provided forgiveness for an entire sin-stained world for all ages of time. The “Stone” which the builders of Nations have rejected will become a great Mountain and reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords. And those who trust in Him? Even the smallest “shall be as Mt. Zion, which cannot be removed but abides forever.”

In this world we are “little children” whom God has chosen to work through to do great things. Whatever small thing you do for Christ today, He will use for His glory.
