Sometimes we have to withdraw from the chaos our eyes see going on in the world and consider the realities we can’t see. For example… “The Mighty God, the LORD, has spoken, and called to the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof…” (Psalm 50:1). All day and night, from sunrise to sunset, in your part of the world and mine, God is calling people to Himself through the Gospel. You’ll never hear about evangelism on the evening news, but it’s happening 24/7 all around us.
Another thing we can’t see, is the praise happening around the world. “From the rising of the sun until the going down of the same, My name shall be great among the nations; and in every place incense (prayer) shall be offered to My name…” (Malachi 1:11). It’s happening. Believers all over the world are praising the name of Jesus, serving Him with joy, and anticipating His return.
And every day and night, God is saving sinners who “cry out to Him in their distresses,” from the east, west, north, and south (Psalm 107). Prodigals are coming Home; prisoners of sin are being set free; the foolish are being made whole from their self-destructions; those in danger are being eternally rescued; and the oppressed have found the Almighty Deliverer - because “whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” One day soon we’ll hear all their testimonies.
We all feel weary of corruption and injustice. But there is a hum of Life, Power, and Prophecy, happening through the distresses around us – an eternal Purpose - that will never be overthrown. We just need to shut out the noise, open our Bibles, and ask God to show us what we can’t see.
