This thought of ruling over this world for a thousand years (Revelation 20:4-6), and into eternity, often baffles the mind. How can ones that struggle to rule over their own little existence, and their own bodies and minds, effectively rule over the world? This is the promise of God, that the very things He’s called us to endure, and learn from now, are for a purpose much grander than this limited life. “Being confident that He that began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)
“This is the trustworthy saying (the truth!): if we died with Him we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign with Him…” (2 Timothy 2:11-12).
In the book of Daniel, he had a prophetic vision of a massive transfer of power in the earth… “Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of ALL the kingdoms under heaven (on earth) WILL BE GIVEN TO THE HOLY PEOPLE OF THE MOST HIGH. His kingdom will last forever and ALL rulers will serve and obey Him.” (Daniel 7:27)
What an amazing thought, that we were born for dominion with Christ! It puts every trial into perspective and gives them purpose. And like mounds of clay, we are being shaped and designed for a future work that will draw upon this hard-earned fruit of suffering and perseverance.
This present power struggle that we’re watching form between all the “rulers of the world,” will be short lived, as God is going to rule in Holy justice and righteousness, and reign over His earth, His people, and His creation. It’s only a matter of time.
Keep looking forward in joyful expectation. Oh, what a day that will be! And to think… we get to share in it!
