We Know

“Evil men and seducers shall grow worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them; and that from a child you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God (straight from His mouth), and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the person belonging to God may be perfect, thoroughly outfitted to all good works” – (2 Timothy 3:13-17).

How thrilling that those standing firm on the Truth of God’s Word will not be sucked in by the growing deceptions/deceivers of our world. Notice the words used to describe the Believer… “assured, knowing, wise, perfect, thoroughly outfitted.”

And that’s not all. Here’s a “to the power of infinity” verse… “Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to glory and virtue…” (2 Peter 1:2,3). The more we know Christ through the Scriptures, we can add “grace, peace, power, virtue” - everything we need for a godly life in ungodly times.

To ice the cake, the little books of John have the words “and we know” 14 times, while Revelation tells us exactly how things end. No wonder we are encouraged to read it daily, know it in context, memorize it, meditate on it; rejoice in it, share it, and sing it. We know history proves it, lives are transformed by it, and not one word will fail.

Stand firm.
