War Without Weapons

Devotional by Cheryl Hall-Laos

There are two types of war and both are evident in our world today. The first is traditional war with weapons and armies, but the second is the real war ravaging the west today. It’s a war of a thousand cuts from within; no weapons needed, just a slow, repetitious whittling away at our freedoms at such a gentle pace no one’s ire is inflamed. The laws are changed under the table while they fill the news with stories of scandal and real wars, so that in comparison we sigh and say how thankful we are that we live in peace. The frog is being boiled and doesn’t even know it.

The four horses of the apocalypse start with a rider on a white horse. “I looked and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest” (Revelation 6:2). Take note that this rider has been given great power (crown), and he has determined that world conquest is his victory to be achieved. But notice that he holds a bow, but no arrows. How can war be won without weaponry? We are seeing it’s beginning already. War through lawfare and deceit accomplishes the same end. In essence, a different kind of conquering is happening, a strategy of false peace. This is the antichrist’s agenda. (Daniel 7:25)

Bible prophecy is not written to scare us but prepare us. It says SO much that isn’t preached on anymore. This false peace (while conquest is happening) can’t last very long. Soon, their real agenda takes up arms. The second horse that follows is the red horse, representing a time of bloodshed in war and persecution. The third horse is black representing world-wide famine. Not surprising, as famine often follows war. The fourth horse is a pale green horse, representing death (pestilences and plagues), “and hell follows with him.” All we have to do is look at the inj-ections being prepared to see what planned plagues lie ahead. It’s going to happen. (Revelation 6:1-8)

Jesus told us to be awake, sober minded, and vigilant in these end days. Why? Because we are called to warn those that are not taking the things of God seriously. Noah warned the people and they scoffed at him. The angels warned Sodom and Gomorrah of coming judgment and they laughed at them. We are told to be “watchmen on the wall,” and to “be ready to share the Hope within us.” These coming judgments are not for the bride of Christ, but a disbelieving world. Be sure you let your loved ones know that we are seeing the stage set for all four horseman to ride out in judgment very soon.

Be ready. Make sure your life is hidden in Christ’s saving blood.
