Those Who Know Their God

Isn’t it wonderful that we know the character of God? We are not left to assume, wish, or imagine. He has revealed Himself to us in Scriptures and walked this earth clothed in flesh.

Knowing He has offered strength, wisdom, and peace to those who come to Him, rather than blame God for life’s trials, we run to Him in prayer for the spiritual tools we need to overcome them… “FOR You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon you.” We have Refuge.

Knowing the Lord’s righteousness and promises, we can look ahead to a time when all the world, having been weaned from empty idolatries, will turn to Christ in faith… “All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name. FOR, You are great, and work wonders! You are God alone.” We have Hope.

Each age of time has had its unique distresses, but Jesus said these last days would be unprecedented in evil and will therefore be unprecedented in judgment. Knowing that long before His wrath are longer days and years of grace, we can endure in the face of evil knowing each day is still a day of salvation for people all over the world. The Lord asks us to be the faithful daily Couriers of His invitation… “But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.” We have eternal Purpose.

Every saint of old endured the evils of their day because “they knew their God.” Hebrews 11 is a walk through the halls of time of those who, among other great victories of faith… worked righteousness, obtained promises, and out of weakness were made strong.

And so shall we.
