Choices. Society is bombarded with new indoctrination to our young people. They preach the need for a revolution - a new way of thinking, a new way of believing (in self and government), a violent, intimidating approach to accomplish your goals, a disrespect for authority, and disregard for the ways of old, including the Bible teachings, and the warnings being shared from the pulpit. This isn’t the first time this deception has been done...
In the book of Jeremiah, God urged the prophet to speak to the people about many roads... “Thus says the LORD: Stand by the roads and look, and ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, We will not walk in it” (Jeremiah 6:16).
The “ancient path” spoken of, is literally the “eternal path,” and God is still urging humanity to choose the wise path that leads to eternal life, where souls will find rest, but many refuse it. But why? Satan has spun an evil lie that whatever is “old” is outdated and irrelevant. Pride loves to boast that it has found its own path - “All we like sheep have gone astray. We have left God’s path to follow our own way” (Isaiah 53:6).
God goes on to give them guidance... “I appointed watchmen over you and said, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ (the warning), but you said, ‘We will not listen’” (vs 17). Oh, the dangers of pride! God says, choose the eternal path, pride says, choose your own. God says to listen to the watchmen, and pride says to live without concern.
Dear friends, hard times lie ahead. We must be sure we are following God’s counsel and listening to His watchmen that He so faithfully has sent to warn us.
In His path is peace, joy, rest, comfort, rich food for the soul, and a destination that is promised to be Glorious. He knows the right Path Home. Choose wisely...
