“He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give to Him the throne of His father David: and He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His Kingdom there shall be no end.” – (Luke 1:32,33)
So wicked were the final kings of Judah that God made a decree still in effect today… “Remove the diadem, take off the crown… I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: and the [throne] shall be no more, until He comes whose right it is, and I will give it to Him” – (Ezekiel 21:26,27). No son of wicked Jeconiah, would ever sit on the throne of Israel again… “O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord, Write this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah” – (Jeremiah 22:29,30). Jeconiah’s line was over.
Joseph, though being a righteous man, was a descendant from the disqualified lineage of Jeconiah (Matthew 1). But in Mary’s lineage, the promise of David’s throne continued through Solomon’s brother, Nathan (Luke 3).
Since the beginning of time, Satan has tried to stop God’s plans through corrupting the human heart. But through the work of salvation, God is preparing a people who cannot be corrupted, an eternally righteous people, for an eternally righteous Kingdom. What a perfect plan! Jesus said the Kingdom of God begins within us, but at His return it shall fill the whole earth… “it shall never be destroyed or left to other people… it shall stand forever” – (Daniel 2:35,44).
People all over the world, redeemed by His blood, are awaiting that moment with joy!
