An extreme G5 geomagnetic storm reached earth on Friday, gifting many parts of the world’s skies with dazzling colors. Geomagnetic storms are caused when the sun has explosions of plasma sending magnetic fields rushing toward earth. Is this a random event or a sign we were told to watch for?
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, in the stars”… (take note in these verses what accompanies these signs)… “And on the earth, distress of nations, with perplexity (confusion and deception), the sea and the waves (refer to humanity) roaring, men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. THEN they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” (Luke 21:25-27)
Eyes were lifted up in wonder, away from the chaos enveloping this earth; the splendor and beauty put to silence the rage of our day, even if just for a while.
May we find hope in these “signs in the heavens” as our hearts ache for the Lord to “show us a token for good,” a reminder that He is over all, fully Sovereign and in control. Our heartache and Home-sickness isn’t missed, nor is the pervasive evil taking over the world. May we “Lift our eyes unto the hills, where our Help comes from.” Nothing that we need right now is found here below. The fullness of our Hope and Contentment is from Above.
