Nobody believed that Moses was able to deliver the Israelites from the death-grip of Egypt, but God had promised a deliverer, and He is true to His promises.
Centuries later, another Deliverer was given - a Savior to the world. Would anyone believe the young virgin, named Mary? Few did, but it didn’t change the fact that God delivered on His promise, once again.
Another promise was given... Jesus declared that after he was crucified, He would rise again on the third day, conquering death for all that come to Him in faith. He did exactly as He said.
Another promise awaits, which is as sure as the rising of the sun. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:3
Dear friends, the King is coming! He is true to His word; we can count on Him.
Notice how appropriate the words of this song are now?
“The marketplace is empty
No more traffic in the streets
All the builder’s tools are silent
No more time to harvest wheat
Busy housewives cease their labors
In the courtroom no debate
Work on earth is all suspended
As the King comes through the gate
O, the King is coming
The King is coming
I just heard the trumpets sounding
And now His face I see
O, the King is coming
The King is coming
Praise God, He’s coming for me!”
