The Glory Of God

“But if our Gospel is hidden, it is hidden to those who are lost: in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine into them. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord… For God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:3-6).

Blind eyes are a travesty, but a blinded mind is far worse. The Devil seeks to blind minds from seeing Jesus as God so that they will not be saved. Jesus is called the “image (icon) of God.” On your computer you have many icons. Whatever icon you click, opens into the world of that topic. When we come to Jesus, everything we need to know about God is found in Him because… “In Him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily” (Colossians 2:9).

The world sees Jesus as a mere man making claims to be God, and many false religions see Him as only a prophet, teacher, or angel. All over the world, the Devil attempts to blind minds to who He really is by downplaying Him.  But the message of the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is that when we see Jesus for who He really is, we will see “the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

Salvation begins by confessing Jesus Christ is Lord. Then we are commissioned to preach “Jesus Christ as Lord” until that glorious day He returns to gather those who own Him as Lord…

Into eternal glory.
