“Behold, the days come, says the Lord, that I will raise to David a righteous Branch (Jesus), and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name by which He shall be called, ‘THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” (Jeremiah 23:5,6).
The prophetic Scriptures are rich with this phrase… “Behold the days come.” God supplies these snapshots from the Photo Album of His Word so we can abound in hope. Notice the connection… “There shall be a root of Jesse (Jesus), and He shall rise to reign over the nations; in Him shall the nations trust. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit” (Romans 15:12,13).
Hope is a supernatural byproduct of the Spirit’s presence in our lives. Its root is faith in God’s promises and power, and it’s uncommon. No unsaved person can experience it, but the Believer is to abound in it. It’s the spiritual equivalent of walking on the water.
Our God is called, “The God of Hope.” Jesus died to save us from sin’s penalty of death, rose again, and promised to return for us. Shall we then give the devil the satisfaction of making us fear? No, we will honor our God of Hope by abounding in Hope through the power of His Spirit. He has spoken, and we believe… “Behold, the days come, says the Lord, that I will perform that good word which I have promised…” (Jeremiah 33:14).
And when we trust His Word, Jesus will fill our hearts with “all joy and peace” that nothing can take away.
