God is doing a work that is panoramic in nature - from the beginning of time to the depths of eternity. We get this privilege to partake in His work for a snippet of time. This work tells a story of a Savior that will come and redeem mankind to Himself. The prophets told of His coming… the angels heralded His arrival… the cross shouted to the world that His work was completed, and the angels once again triumphantly declared that He is not here, He is risen, and in like manner will return.
His promise to Noah, Moses, Abraham, and us, to snatch us from the grasp of hell and mortality and deliver us into eternal life and immortality, was accomplished just as He said.
If it seems mind boggling to think that God wants to include us in His amazing work, it shouldn’t be, we are His hands and feet - His ambassadors to a lost and dying world. The privilege is ours to tell of His power to save, the Home He has prepared for us, the new body that awaits us, and the coming inheritance of His riches towards us for all eternity. This “work” is bigger than politics, higher than human philosophy, expansive beyond our lifetime, and far beyond the ability of humans to stop it.
“We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works.” And this “work” has a finish date… “He will complete the work He has started in us.” So, dear ones, your most important job isn’t your 9-5 or your title, but the work you do for Christ. It reaches into the deepest darkest souls and frees them, bringing them into His glorious light.
Time is short… “Let us work while it is still day, for night is coming when no one can work.”
May God bless all you do for Him. Every prayer, every good deed, every Word of God shared. You are an integral part of His bigger, timeless work. What a privilege!
