Summoning Evil

Devotional by Cheryl Hall-Laos

Symbols matter. They represent the culture and the heart behind the present group think. What is the message being sent out to the world from France? “We WILL decide our own identity! We oppose God, and we openly mock His claim to be God, and would rather worship the golden calf (of man-made ideologies). They presented a white horse, (or pale horse as the Bible calls it), running as in war towards the people.

“I looked and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and hell was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth” (Revelation 6:8).  Who is the “they” that were given power to kill? I thought the horse was singular? It is the demonic realm that is unleashed with each of the four horses of the apocalypse.

There is a great polarization forming before our eyes. “The Spirit and the Bride say, ‘Come!’” They plead with God to take us out of this earth that is ruled by evil powers in high places. BUT, simultaneously, the godless summon in the demonic realm. Baal worship was promoted in Birmingham in 2022 at the Commonwealth games, with a huge robotic bull with red eyes as people bowed before it. This year, the demonic realm of death (pale horse), and the love of wealth over God (golden calf), are being summoned to come, to be celebrated, and to have their way. But beware…  “The thief only comes to steal, kill and destroy.” Satan’s resume is easily defined and consists of three straightforward goals, and he’s ready to implement them.

This may seem benign to many viewers as just an expression of crude art, but it’s so much more. It’s the summoning of the demonic realm. Pray for the Lord to come. Pray that we will be bold and faithful in the face of evil, and pray that the eyes of those that celebrate such evil will be opened before they are destroyed by the very evil they have called into play.

Come Jesus, Come!
