Savior From Hate

“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for He has visited and redeemed His people, and has raised up a horn (announcement of power) of salvation for us in the house of His servant David; as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, who have been since the world began: that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us…” – (Luke 1:68-71)

Hatred, lies, and murder are as old as Satan. He envied the future plans God had for Adam and Eve. He saw that although we are made from dust, we are destined for eternal glory in Christ, exalted above angels, as sons and daughters of the Living God. Jesus called Satan, “a murderer from the beginning.”

Cain killed his own brother Abel because he wanted the future blessings of Messiah’s line, but “his own works were evil and his brother’s righteous.” Esau hated his brother Jacob because of the blessing of Messiah with which his father had blessed him. The ancient nations around Israel hated her because they knew God’s plans for her… “There shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Scepter shall rise out of Israel…”

Jesus said, “The world hates Me because I testify that its works are evil.” Yet, in spite of their hatred to Him, He loved all people with an everlasting love by forgiving our sins at the Cross and opening His arms to anyone who will run to Him for eternal safety.

The Adversary of all humanity sees the future plans God has for His Church and for His nation. The hatred today is not a battle over land, but a satanically-energized venom against the coming reign of Christ.

Christ’s first appearing saved us from our sins. His second will fulfill the prophecy to “save us from our enemies and the hand of all that hate us.” One day soon the skies will split with joy again…

The Prince of Peace is here!
