Run With Endurance

Have you ever taken a long trail ride on horseback? At the beginning of the day the horses act sluggish, not wanting to exert the energy that is being asked of them. Their feet seem heavy, often tripping over downed logs. When asked to run, they resist… they just plod along… weary… until they know they are on the final stretch home, then a burst of energy transforms them. They prance and whinny, noses flared; they are completely recharged with the knowledge that ahead of them is rest, water, food and fresh hay to lay down in.

As Believers that have been on a long, hard journey, we, too, can find ourselves weary, BUT… signs of His soon return keep coming up before us, and the surety of each and every promise He has given us, surges energy back into our hearts as we see in the distance a “City on a Hill, not made with human hands,” awaiting us!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded with such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off ever weight that hinders and every sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1)

Friends, time is short and Jesus is near. May we use this time for His glory, His purposes and His message. We all have more to do for the Kingdom, so let us run with endurance this final stretch Home.
