Rising Triumphant

Only God can take the evil desires and actions of man and weave them into a glorious tapestry of His perfect will, fully enacted and fulfilled to perfection. A Scottish minister, James Stewart, in Scotland penned the following…

“They nailed Him to the tree, not knowing that by that very act they were bringing the world to His feet. They gave Him a cross, not guessing He would make it a throne. They flung Him outside the gates to die, not knowing that in that very moment they were lifting up all the gates of the universe to let the King of Glory come in. They thought to root out His doctrines (teachings), not understanding that they were implanting imperishable in the hearts of men the very Name they intended to destroy. They thought they had defeated God with His back to the wall, pinned and helpless and defeated: they did not know that it was God Himself who had tracked them down. He did not conquer in spite of the dark mystery of evil. He conquered through it!”

His perfectly orchestrated death and resurrection is the greatest reminder to us all that God is sovereign and victorious in all He does. Our lives are a part of this Master plan. He rose victorious over sin, hell and the grave, and we, too, live in this great victory. We do not fear evil, we serve Him in the midst of it. We do not fear death, for we are immortal through Him. We can rejoice as the world frets, and see vibrant Hope where others only see dread.

“Because He lives, I can face tomorrow…

Because He lives, all fear is gone.

Because I know He holds the future,

My life is worth the living just because He lives.”
