Remember His Voice

“I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s (King’s) Day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet… I turned to see the Voice that spoke with me… and when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He laid His right upon me, saying to me, ‘Fear not; I am the First and the Last: I am the Living One, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of hell and of death.” – (Revelation 1)

Today is the Feast of Trumpets. Millions of shofars will be blown all over the world. Since a Shofar can only be from a dead ram, the story of Isaac is told on this day, who willingly laid down his life (yet was spared), to partake in a “drama” of what Christ would fulfill at Calvary. Isaac’s life was spared by a ram in the thickets, caught by his horns, which was sacrificed in his stead. This was fulfilled in Jesus for each of us. He is our Ram of Substitution, dying to save us from our sins, and rising to keep us by His power.

If ever there was a Trumpet Voice, it is the Shofar blast of Jesus telling the world, “I am the Living One, and became dead, and behold I am alive for evermore!” And His message for the Churches is that He is returning to finish the work He began… “I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, says the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Wherever you live, and whatever your circumstances may be, the tone of the day is gladness because Jesus lives… “This day is holy to our Lord. Do not be sad, for the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:10). Rejoice in His promises… He is Love, He is Life, and He is the Almighty. He will finish what He started.

Maranatha! (Our Lord is coming!)
