Pre-emptive Pardons

Nothing shouts “guilty” like a pre-emptive pardon. Nothing cries “injustice!” more than freeing those who should be brought to justice for crimes against humanity, while offering no justice to the injured and wronged.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus provided pre-emptive pardons for everyone born after the Cross. But His Pardon wasn’t a cheap scribble on white paper to protect the lawless and cheat justice. His Pardon satisfied the perfect laws of justice, the penalty being “paid in full” by His precious blood. And there are two requirements for the sinner before God grants it… “repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21).

But there were other Pardons issued late last night, but from a very different person holding the pen. Those who were falsely accused in the J6 fiasco, were cleared from all charges of wrongdoing and should anyone try to accuse them again, the highest authority in the world has declared them guiltless.

How much greater is this true in our Pardon from Heaven… “Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God who justifies you! Who is it that can condemn you now? It is Christ who died, yea rather, who is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us” (Romans 8:32-37).

My prayer is that these events will help more people understand the purpose of the Cross… “For when were yet without strength (not even born yet), at the right time Christ died for the ungodly (Pre-emptive Pardons) … for God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath (Judgment Day) through Him” (Romans 5:6-9).
