Plan Your Song

Devotional by Lisa Cataford

When God sent Moses as a deliverer to tell Pharaoh to “Let My people go,” Pharaoh responded by saying, “Who is the Lord that I should obey his voice?” Pharaoh only became more obstinate to keep his slaves. But you know how the story goes, and when Israel stood safely on freedom’s shores…  “Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song to the Lord… ‘I will sing unto the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously, the horse and his rider He has thrown into the sea…’” (Exodus 15:1).

When God anointed David to be king after Saul, Saul became so jealous that he sought to kill him. Many worthless men hunted David, and some deniers said, “Who is David? And Who is the son of Jesse?” But at the dedication of David’s throne, “A Song at the Dedication of the House of David” was prepared and sung… “I will extol You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up, and have not made my foes to rejoice over me!” (Psalm 30:1).

God sent the world a Deliverer and King in His Son. Jesus walked on earth doing miracles no human has ever done or could do. But the wicked mocked, saying, “Who are you? And whom do you make yourself?” But He delivered us from death’s claim on our lives by paying for our sins with His blood. Then arose in power proving He was God.

Everyone who trusts in Christ is grafted into Him and His resurrection victory. The Lord turns the tables and asks… “Who is he that can separate you from My love?” There is no pharaoh or foe on earth that can prevent us from sharing Christ’s coming reign of glory.

Now is a great time to prepare your victory song.
