World events have driven us into the prophetic Scriptures like never before, as it should. We have been shown the end of the Story… “We have also, made more sure, the prophetic Word; unto which you do well to take heed (fix your mind on), as a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the Daystar arises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).
What will happen to Israel? Does the Bible speak of Gaza? Of terrorists? Of Hamas? Of Islam? Of the countries that hate Israel and want to annihilate her? Does it speak of the attempt at global domination through lies and deceptions? Yes… “He reveals the deep and secret things: He knows what is in the darkness, and the light (revelation and truth) dwells with Him” (Daniel 2:22).
Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world: the one who follows Me shall never walk in darkness but shall have the Light of Life” (John 8:12). He’s true to His Word. Truth is light, and light brings hope, and hope brings confident joy.
As we keep our eyes on prophecy, things we didn’t understand before, or events we didn’t foresee, become clearer, just as the Lord promises… “The path of the righteous is as the shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they do not know at what they stumble” (Proverbs 4:18).
As we place the light of prophecy beside modern-day events, Jesus said to pray, share the hope we have in Him, and warn the reckless of coming accountability, for He will purge this earth of wickedness, until everything, even the jingle bells worn by horses, are inscribed with these words: ‘HOLINESS TO THE LORD.’” I can hardly wait.
