Those watching world events can’t help but observe that the world is polarizing between left and right. People are choosing sides and this is a prophetic reality. Jesus said that when He returns to judge the world, all nations will be gathered before Him and divided between left and right. There will be no middle ground, there’s only two sides…
“When the Son of Man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He shall sit upon the throne of His glory: and before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides His sheep from the goats. And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left” (Matthew 25:31-33).
The sheep are those who “hear His voice and follow Him.” The goats are those who refused. But notice there was no middle category. Nor has there ever been. Jesus said, “He that is not with Me is against Me.” He warned there are only two roads in life that people travel, either the wide or the narrow, and there are only two ends: Heaven or Hell. And when it comes to obeying God’s Word, there are only two types of people, the wise or the foolish.
The prophet Elijah challenged his generation, “How long do you halt between two opinions?” And that is the question of the hour for our generation. The offer of salvation began with Jesus’ cross between two thieves, “one on the right hand and one on the left.” One chose repentance and faith, even in the last minutes of life. The other chose unbelief and death. And the final judgment will close the same way, with two groups - those either on the left or right – depending on what they did with Jesus.
May we share the urgency to choose wisely and choose quickly.
