Not A Game

As kids we used to play “trust” games. One blind-folded person would be led around the yard by another, hoping that the person they’ve entrusted themselves to won’t lead them into a tree or puddle. Some played the game by falling backwards, hoping another would catch them. These games have sometimes turned out to be harmful and deadly.

Real life is no game. We have entrusted ourselves to leaders who are taking us into places we don’t want to go. God told the people of Israel, “They who lead you cause you to err.” But in Jesus, we can have complete confidence His guidance. It is written… “You shall guide me with Your counsel and afterwards receive me to glory.” Our destination is assured.

But in order for such marvelous trust to be ours, Jesus LET Himself be led to His death that He might remove our sins as far as the east is from the west. But he didn’t go with blinders on, or unwillingly… “They led Him to the High Priest’s house … they led Him to their council … In the morning they led Him to Pilate … the soldiers led Him to the hall where they mocked Him … they led Him away, bearing His cross, to be crucified.

So sure is our life in His hands, that He has already announced our arrival in the Halls of Heaven. He will lead us in paths of righteousness no matter how dark the valley now. In perfect trust, we can have perfect peace.

We’re in Good Hands.
