No Greater Love, No Greater Power

Today is Remembrance Day for Canada and Veteran’s Day for the United States. Without these heroes the world would have been enslaved long ago by Communist tyranny. Yet the enemy never sleeps and has now infiltrated every area of society.

But the blood and toil of those who fought and died to keep us free was not in vain. Jesus said, “Greater love has no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends’ (John 5:14). This Christlike love demonstrated by our soldiers paved the way for the Gospel to go around the globe in an even greater way than ever before. Blood-bought time was a precious commodity for others to hear and receive eternal life through Christ.

However, Jesus didn’t just bring us “no greater love,” He brought “no greater power” - resurrection power. Power over sin, death, and the wiles of the devil. Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life; the Grave-Opener; the Light which chases darkness. He the Prison-Door-Burster; the Dragon-Slayer; the Rock crushing all those who imagine they can overthrow Him. He is the King over all kings, the Lord over all lords, and He will “rule the nations with a rod of iron” because they need it. In His days “the righteous will flourish, and abundance of peace as long as the moon endures”.

We’re watching the nations divide and prepare for war. But it won’t be the victory they imagine, but rather, the victories foretold in the Bible through Christ. The One who died to win eternal life for us, is preparing to usher in His Kingdom of which, “there shall be no end. He shall have dominion from sea to sea, from the river to the ends of the earth” (Psalm 72:7,8).

Hallelujah!
