“He that observes the wind shall not sow; and he that regards the clouds shall not reap. As you do not know what the way of the Spirit is, nor how the bones grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so you do not know the works of God who makes all things. In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening don’t withhold your hand: for you do not know which shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both alike shall be good.” – (Ecclesiastes 11:4-6)
Anticipating adversity will keep us from sowing the seeds of the Gospel when we should. Yet, God works in spite of, and through, all the efforts of the enemy or adverse circumstances. He can take the seed we sow in tears, and bring crops we never imagined possible, if we will just go and do it.
“So is the Kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground, and should sleep, and rise night and day. The seed springs forth and grows up, yet he doesn’t know how. For the earth brings forth fruit of itself, first the blade, then the ear, after that the full grain in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest is come” – (Mark 4:29).
What a joy to know we never work alone. Every effort to share the Gospel is a SEED of Truth carried by the Spirit. We must not focus on the adversity, but on our God who works silently and miraculously within lives, in ways we don’t know. He promises that those who sow in tears, shall reap with shouts of joy. Keep sowing in faith…
A great harvest is coming.
