(Psalm 84 and 94)
“How lovely is Your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts. My soul longs, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.”
Oh how our hearts cry out for God to make His justice known in a world that is drunk on violence and evil. We weep at the sight of those that celebrate the death of their fellow humans. How far has the human condition fallen to stoop to such depravity! All those years ago, David also cried unto the Lord, “How long O Lord, will the wicked triumph? They pour out arrogant words and boast of their evil. They crush Your people, Lord: they afflict Your heritage. They slay the widow and the foreigner, they murder the fatherless. They say, ‘The Lord does NOT see; the God of Jacob takes no notice.’”
“Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on their journey Home. As they pass through the Valley of Baca (tears), they make it a place of springs(refreshing)… They go from strength to strength, until each appears before God in Zion.”
“Does the One who made the ear, not hear? He who formed the eye, does He not see everything? He will discipline the nations for He knows the thoughts of man…”
“If I say, ‘my foot is slipping,’ Your loving devotion O Lord supports me. When anxiety overwhelms me, Your consolation delights my soul.” “The Lord God has been my Rock of refuge; my stronghold. He will destroy them for their wickedness. The Lord our God will destroy them.” May God’s word comfort our souls and remind us that God is still on the throne. He sees and hears everything, and is preparing His promised defense of Israel.
Justice is coming.
