“The fire and the wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God Himself will provide the Lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” (Genesis 22:8) “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” (Galatians 4:4-5) Into this prophetical scene, the quiet, hay scented stable, was Divinely interrupted…as the cries of a newborn filled the air. The fullness of time had come! God had provided a Lamb to redeem a lost and sin-laden world. Why would Jesus, being fully God, leave the glories of Heaven for a world that He knew would crucify Him? There’s one answer - LOVE. “For God SO LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) Love compelled Him to come. Love saw that redeeming you and me was worth the cross. Love committed fully to see us become His bride. Love knew that without Him we would be forever lost. Oh, the power of the Love of God! And oh the sweetness it is to be loved so well! “Love came down at Christmas Love all lovely, love Divine! Love was born at Christmas Star and angels gave the sign.”
