The same sentiment has recently been shared by so many people... They’ve felt a deep darkness approaching. They want to feel hope that this earth has good days and years ahead, but the shadow of evil is felt. It seems as though the powers of darkness are ultra-awakened; a spiritual suspense that is warning us that a Great Page is about to be turned. Isaiah wrote of another time like this...
“The people who have walked in darkness have seen a Great Light; those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a Light has shined.” (Isaiah 9:2)
Isaiah wrote of a coming Messiah, who would bring ALL that we, as humanity, longed for and needed. “For unto us a Child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
Friends, here we are on the backside of this fulfilled prophecy. We have not only seen The Great Light of Jesus, but we’ve experienced His mighty power to save. He walks with us and guides us through this life with never-ending love. His peace in our lives is the by-product of the knowledge that we KNOW this Great Light leads us gently Home. No evil or darkness can overcome it, and nothing will separate us from Him.
What a blessed time of year to reflect on this Light of all lights. Dear ones, we are truly in evil times, but not without Light. We have the spotlight of prophecy reminding us of the words of the angels that watched our risen Savior ascend... “Why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken from you into Heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into Heaven.” (Act 1:11)
Can you hear the church singing together as one longing Bride? - “Oh Come, Oh come, Immanuel...”
