With the return of Christ so near, it’s good to stop and consider how we want to be found. Here’s four considerations the Bible mentions:
The Apostle Paul, who spent so many years trying to establish his own righteousness, after realizing that even one sin disqualified him from Heaven, said… “I want to be found in Him, not having my own righteousness… but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith” (Philippians 3:9).
Since we serve such a great King who is so faithful to us, will He find us joyfully anticipating His return? Jesus said, “Let your loins be girded, and your lights burning, and yourselves like those who wait for their Lord, when He will return from the wedding, that when He comes and knocks, they may open to Him immediately. Blessed are those servants, whom the Lord when He comes shall find watching!” (Luke 12:35-37).
In a world of growing hatred and persecution towards the people of God, may our faith be found worthy of His commendation… “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes, though it be tried with fire, might be found worthy of praise, honor, and glory, at the appearing of Jesus: Whom having not seen, you love…” (1 Peter 1:7,8).
And since Christ is returning to gather His blood-bought Bride out of every nation on earth, wouldn’t it honor Him to find us loving as Family and living in holiness, in preparation for our real Home?... “Wherefore beloved, seeing that you look for such things (new heaven and new earth where righteousness dwells), be diligent that you may be found of Him living in peace, without spot, and blameless” (2 Peter 3:14).
Maranatha! Be ready.
