The Hebrew word “Altaschith” is the heading of four Psalms. “Altaschith” means “Not Destroyed” and is the guarantee of those under the blood of Christ that nothing can sever us from His love or His resurrection power.
David wrote three of the “Altaschith” Psalms (57,58,59) when he fled from king Saul. David proclaimed His confidence in God that when the dust settles, those trusting in His mercy cannot be destroyed but the wicked will face judgment.
Asaph wrote the last “Altaschith” Psalm (75), with this Passover truth… “For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture, and He pours out of the same: but the dregs of it, all the wicked of the earth shall drain and drink.” Jesus partially fulfilled this when He held the third cup, the Cup of Redemption, and poured out of His cup to all the disciples, saying, “This cup is the New Covenant in My blood, which is shed for you” (Luke 22:20).
Those receiving Christ’s offer of forgiveness through His Cross, will never taste the cup of His wrath… “Being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” (Romans 5:9,10).
The One who died to save us, lives to keep us by His power. No matter what trials we endure as we walk with Him, we know how things ends. We can be troubled, perplexed, persecuted, and cast down, but we are never forsaken, and we can never be destroyed (2 Corinthians 4:8,9).
Jesus is preparing a righteous and eternal people for an indestructible Kingdom. Hallelujah!
