These powerful words are exclusively towards those who are children of God through faith in Christ. It is this promise that makes champions for God. When God asked Moses to lead His people out of Israel and Moses felt unqualified, the Lord said, “Certainly I will be with you.” When Moses died, the Lord said to Joshua, “As I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.”
When God called Gideon to a military victory over the Midianites, the first words He spoke were, “The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor!” When David became King of Israel, the Lord assured him, “I took you from the sheepfold that you should rule over My people Israel, and I have been with you wherever you have walked.” In a time of great danger, God told Jeremiah, “Don’t be afraid, they shall fight against you, but they shall not prevail, for I am with you to deliver you.”
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego found the Lord was with them, and the fiery furnace had no power over them. The evils of our day call us to stand also. Our strengths don’t equip us, nor our weaknesses disqualify us, for victory is assured through Christ’s presence and power. He encourages us as surely as the apostle Paul, “Don’t be afraid, but speak, for I am with you,”
“Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age” was given as triumphant marching orders to evangelize the world in His power. And no matter where you are, and what you are going through, God is at work through you, to bring His love, truth, and comfort to others. We are never alone. What a glorious promise!
