Heaven's Door

This Christmas we remember the first advent of our King,

And look ahead to all the joys that His return will bring – just think!

One day the door of Heaven will burst open in the night,

And Jesus Christ, our God and King, will flood this earth with light!

Every eye shall see Him, as He gathers up His own,

And every loyal heart on earth will know – we’re going Home!

Together with our Mighty King, and those who’ve gone before,

We’ll rise to enter all the good that Jesus has in store!

So take some time, this season, just to let it all sink in,

But know that we are not alone while waiting here for Him;

For Jesus too is waiting, His heart longing from Above,

To wrap His Homesick children into His arms of love.

So have a merry Christmas, though earth may storm and threat,

Look past the clouds to Heaven’s Door, and in His promise rest;

Let church-bells ring with glory! Let Christians shout and sing!

For in a very little while – we shall behold our King!
