He Knows

“Do You have eyes of flesh? Do you see as man sees? Are your days as the days of man? Are your years as man’s days?” – (Job 10:4,5)

How can God, who is Spirit, understand the physical sufferings of those ‘made of clay? How can One who is Eternal, feel the brevity of life? How can One who is Almighty understand helplessness when facing adversity and evil? God is Light. Does He understand what it feels like to live in physical and moral darkness? He is Life. Does He understand our constant worry and heartache in this “valley of the shadow of death”?

In Christ’s birth, all these questions of, “Does God know?” are answered… “We do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our infirmities; for He was tempted in every way, just as we are, except for sinful things. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:15,16).

The Father sent His Son to be our Savior, for as ‘Messiah Jehovah’ He cannot fail in His work of salvation. And because the Father wants us to know Him, no one else could reveal His perfect character to this world but the Son who is “the image of the Invisible God.” Only in the face of Jesus Christ do we see the “glory of God” and find eternal life. Jesus stated it clearly... "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6). Then He lovingly calls all people to "Come."

Many today are wondering if God knows their sorrows – and if He cares. May the Lord help us share the joy of Christmas: God sent His Son to cleanse us from sin, that we might walk with Him forever, delighting always in His love.

“O Come to the Father through Jesus the Son,

And give Him the glory, great things He has done.”
