Hundreds, if not thousands of times, the Lord promises that the wicked shall not prosper. History is filled with evidence of this truth and the Bible overflows with assurances to the upright… “The Lord loves justice and will not forsake His saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off” (Psalm 37:28).
The Bible even gives us a global timeline… “WHEN ALL the wicked spring as the grass, and WHEN ALL the workers of iniquity flourish, it is that they shall be destroyed for ever” (Psalm 92:7). We’re here. We can see it. But it’s not for evil to win, but to be overthrown, by the power and perfect justice of our risen Savior.
Jesus’ resurrection morning was not meant to be celebrated once a year – but every day of our lives – because it is the guarantee that evil, death, and the devil, won’t win. A great resurrection morning awaits us. The testimony of the Apostle Paul before kings and rulers was… “that Christ should suffer, and that He should be the FIRST that should rise from the dead and should show light to the people and to the nations” (Acts 26:23).
The Cross proves God is a God of justice. Yet through the Cross He offers to forgive and preserve forever all who repent and trust Him before His day of Judgment comes. His resurrection is the “guarantee to all mankind” that evil’s reign will come to an end. This is the light we walk in, and this is the comfort by which we are to comfort one another each day.
Our King is coming. Rejoice.
