“The Lord gives wisdom: out of His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up (hides) sound wisdom for the righteous: He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. He keeps the paths of justice and preserves the way of His saints” (Proverbs 2:6-8).
This week, Elon Musk offered to take cameras into Fort Knox, Kentucky, to see if the gold reserves, worth $425 billion, are really there. The public has never been allowed on that heavily guarded base. God is telling us that He has a vault of “sound wisdom” reserved for all whose hearts are right with Him. Access is granted through Christ.
“Sound wisdom” means that God offers us truth which can be proven, tested, relied upon, and drawn from. To those who have trusted in Christ for salvation from sin and eternal life, God opens the Vault of Riches in His Son… “in Whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3).
All the Apostles of Jesus testified… “We speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world to our glory… As it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of mankind the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit” through His Word (1 Corinthians 2:7-9).
The world mocks our Bible and our Savior. But those who have knelt at the Cross, opened the pages of this Treasury, and gazed into the unmeasurable Reserve of God’s love toward us in Christ, can only exclaim… “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God!” (Romans 11:33). How rich we are in Christ!
