God is no “respecter of persons.” He shows no favoritism, partiality, or prejudice, because He is righteous in all His ways. He warns the judges of earth through the Scriptures that they represent Him…
“Take heed what you do: for you do not judge for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. Therefore now, let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Take heed what you do: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes” (2 Chronicles 2:6,7).
God’s marvelous fairness is seen in making salvation available to all through faith in His Son… “Whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:15). Jesus was universal in His love for all when He said, “When I am lifted up (on the cross) I will draw all mankind unto Me.” How perfectly righteous and just He is!
Those who spurn God’s grace now, fail to grasp the fact that grace is necessary because justice follows. The same universal fairness in grace will also be seen in universal judgments of righteousness. The Bible tells us those who trample God’s grace and mock His righteousness today, will yet be thankful for one attribute in Hell - His fairness. They will be “comforted” by the fact that other evil-doers receive the same justice as themselves (Ezekiel 31:16,17).
For eternal ages the gift of grace through the Cross of Christ will be the center of our praise, with the glorious truth that “whosoever will” means “me.” As the song so beautifully says:
“Wonderful grace of Jesus, reaching the most defiled,
By His transforming power, making him God’s dear child;
Purchasing peace and Heaven, for all eternity,
For the wonderful grace of Jesus reaches me!
