The details of a single snowflake leave us in awe. These tiny crystals are so intricately designed that no two are alike! Or take one cell from our bodies and find an entire computer within it, a photocopy machine, servants, paper, doorways, and communication. Our God is a God of amazing details, accuracy, wisdom, perfection, and love.
When it comes to His Word, Jesus said, “Verily, I say unto you, ‘Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no way pass from the Law, till all is fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18). A ‘jot’ is the Greek “iota,” the tenth and smallest letter of the Greek alphabet that is a mere comma. A “tittle” refers to the little decorative ‘horns’ of the Hebrew alphabet that adorn their beautiful script. Jesus is saying that not the smallest detail of the Scriptures, Hebrew (Old Testament) or Greek (New Testament), will go unfulfilled.
When it comes to our lives, it’s the details the Lord is interested in. He knew every sin we have ever done so that He could pay for it with His blood and remove it forever. He knows the difference between a thought and an intention in our hearts (Hebrews 4:13). He numbers the hairs on each head (Matthew 10:30), and He knows what things we have need of before we ask Him (Matthew 6:8).
And He wants us to know that His plans for us are more than can be numbered and no amount of secretly crafted, united evil can hinder it. His eyes are in “every place beholding the evil and the good.” He is perfectly in charge of our days, will reveal every secret thing, bring perfect justice to the nations, and perfect peace to our hearts.
We can rest in His love.
