In a world full of pain, anger, violence and raw emotion, Scripture tells us that in the end times “the love of many will grow cold.” It’s understandable that many will simply want to turn off their emotions because it’s all too much to bear. It’s tempting to want to numb ourselves (whether by staying disconnected or too busy) to all the pain, but it’s not dealing with reality.

Not once do we see Jesus disengage, in fact, just the opposite! He fully entered into other’s pain and offered them Hope. To the confused, God says, “Come now, let us reason together. Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow” -(Isaiah 1:18). Notice He invited them to conversation and reason, not an argument.

To the one unsure of the way to go, He tenderly encourages them to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path” - (Proverbs 3:5, 6). Even our suffering is an opportunity to enter into a sweet fellowship of heartache... “I desire that I may know Christ, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering, that I may be conformed to Him, even in death” - (Philippians 3:10).

But beyond the pain, is a call to enter into His hope, His peace, and His joy. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope.” - (Romans 15:13)

Dear friends, may we enter into all He has for us here, for soon enough, we will hear Him invite us to enter into the Joy (the perfect, indescribable, heavenly) joy of the Lord. Soon!
