“Ask the beasts, and they shall teach you; and the birds of the air, and they shall teach you: or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you: and the fish of the sea shall declare to you. Who does not know in all these that the hand of the Lord has made these? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?” – (Job 12:7-10)
We are not alone in feeling vexed over evil. All creation groans under the weight of sin. In fact, rebellious mankind is rebuked by the intelligence of the seemingly quiet earth. For the heavens declare the glory of the God and their ecliptic band takes their Gospel “sound into all the earth and their words to the end of the world.” Creation’s intricacy, beauty, and unity, leave the world without excuse in seeing our Creator’s signature.
If mankind were silent regarding Jesus’ as the Son of God, the rocks would cry out. At His crucifixion, the earth quaked in grief, and the sun refused to shine for three hours. At His resurrection a greater earthquake of joy shook the earth. At His return “the mountains and hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
The Bible says “the intense expectation of all creation awaits the revelation of the children of God (Rapture), because creation itself shall also be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, who have the Firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption (lit: sonship), that is, the redemption of our bodies (Rapture).
One day soon, everything will change. May we point people to eternal safety in Christ, the Ark Door with urgency, before the Trumpet sounds.
