“Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write to you of our shared salvation, it was necessary for me to write to you, and intreat you, that you should all earnestly contend for the faith which was once-for-all delivered to the saints. For there are certain men who crept in unawares, who were described long ago by this term of condemnation – ungodly men – turning the grace of our God into license to sin, and denying our only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ” – (Jude 1:3,4).
A shocking truth came to light this week as journalists uncovered that the same political groups promoting hatred across campuses, have created false religious front organizations, stealthily infiltrating Bible schools and churches, providing craftily designed Bible studies and written material, intending to divide, corrupt truth, and overthrow the Church from within.
Jesus showed us how to stand against the wiles of the devil by saying “It is written…” three times. It’s vital for us to stay faithful to the Word of God… “Hold fast the form (outline, pattern) of sound words… in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 1:13). Faithful teaching of the Scriptures, in context, (our first soul-armor), will prevent people from being fooled by the most charming wolf in sheep’s clothing.
The Royal Canadian Mint does not send out experts to study every counterfeit piece of money produced. They happily tell that you they know the real thing so well, counterfeits are easily identified. The same is true with God’s Word. The better we know it, the safer we are.
Jesus is building His Church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. His power and love are toward us, and the truth of the Lord endures for ever. Hallelujah.
