As Believers, we must put away this idea that we have grown strong enough to handle all the stresses of life. We don’t like to admit that our resilience, and our strength is stored in a tank full of holes. We wear down quicker than we think we should, and it draws us to our need for the strength of God. Friends, these are intense, dark times, and the spiritual warfare is exhausting. We need more of God, and we know it… “Like a deer pants for streams of water, so our souls long for You, oh God” - (Psalm 42:1).
C.H. Spurgeon stated it well when he said, “What poor starving souls they are who live without the diligent use of the Word of God and secret prayer… Without constant restoration we are not ready for the perpetual assaults of hell. Woe to him who hasn’t set his roots deep, clinging tightly to the Rock of our faith, or cast his anchor into the Haven of our peace, for without God renewing us each day, we will surely grow weak. Like the flower that thirsts for the dew of the morning, let us thirst for the Word of God to refresh us, renew us, and strengthen us each day.”
Friends, we are watching a well planned, satanic, wearing down of our society that is bringing it to its knees. But we don’t have to participate in this emotional abuse, we have a promise that, “His strength is made perfect in our weakness,” and that if we go to Him for renewal that, “our inner man will be renewed day by day.”
Friends, if we are going to be found abounding in faith and Hope (not fear and despair) at His appearing, we need more of Him, His strength, His words of comfort, and His endurance - every single day. Constant restoration is a ministry of the Holy Spirit, into our weary hearts. How blessed we are to have a Helper!
