A Christian mom shared that, “The longer I’m on this earth, the less I feel that I belong.” I think we can all say a resounding, “Amen!” to that. We all share her sentiment.
Did you know that Scripture said we would feel this way? “You are all children of the Light and children of the Day. We DO NOT BELONG to the night or to the darkness” - (1 Thessalonians 5:5). It can be a lonely existence if we don’t apply Scriptural truths each and every day.
“So then, let us not be like others who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. Let us be clearheaded, protected by the armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the confidence of our Salvation” - (1 Thessalonians 5:6).
Friends, we must not hide away from the encroaching darkness, but see it for what it is, call it what it is, and pray that people would turn from their evil while there is time. But to live among the darkness is taxing. It drains our souls and leaves us weary. Scripture doesn’t mislead us, it tells us that at the end things “will grow worse and worse” - (2Timothy 3:13). It’s so important that we learn how to handle this bleakness.
Scripture exhorts us to come together as children of Light to encourage one another and care for each other. Find a Church where your heart and soul can be nurtured in the Light of God’s Word every week. The early saints did this for each other in the darkest of times, and it’s a joy to continue to do this now.
