But We See Jesus

When we look at the state of our world because of sin, it looks like a hopeless mess. Yet the Bible tells us to fix our eyes on Jesus. The world isn’t as it should be… “But we see Jesus, who was made for a little while lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, that He by the grace of God should taste death for every person” (Hebrews 2:9).

Jesus overcame the world – lies, contempt, hatred, slander, and a horrific death - to cleanse us from sin, defeat death, and bring us “to glory.” Now He is crowned with glory and honor, and our eyes look to Him to complete the redemption He began… “Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him (saving souls) endured the Cross, disdaining the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).

Very soon Jesus will arise from His throne, and everything will change… “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, says the Lord; I will set them in safety from those who breathe threats at them” (Psalm 12:5).

Just as God told Abraham to “lift up your eyes and look from the place you are, northward, southward, eastward, and westward, for all the land you see, to you I will give, and to your Seed (Christ) forever; arise, walk through the land in the length of it and breadth of it, for I will give it to you,” we open our Bibles and walk through all God’s promises to us in Christ, from where we stand today, and rejoice in what awaits because Jesus lives (Genesis 13:14-17).
