Isaiah prophesied of a day when there would be those that are completely and utterly captivated with One Message - that God has come to live with humanity, to make God known, to save the lost, and to provide a Way forward into eternity for everyone who believes…
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring Good News, who proclaim Peace, who bring Good Tidings, who proclaim Salvation, who say to Zion, ‘the God of Israel reigns!’” (Isaiah 52:7)
These “messengers” of the Good News have a specific message - only through Salvation can we have true peace - the kind that settles our hearts from here into eternity. Their message reminds everyone that God reigns with all authority, and because of that, our Salvation cannot be obliterated by any act of evil. God’s Good News comes to us as an imperishable, indestructible treasure in His only Son.
This season, we remember the angel that appeared to Mary who proclaimed, “Don’t be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will bear a Son and His name will be Jesus (meaning, Savior). He will be the Son of the Most High… and His kingdom will never end” (Luke 1:26-38). There’s no better news than to hear that Salvation has come! Love, Itself, has visited us and invited us into communion with Him. Death’s days were now numbered as Jesus would soon conquer death on the cross, and eternity with Him was soon to be our greatest destination; our forever Home.
This Good News is still transforming lives all around the world. The prophets said Jesus would come… and Jesus came… they said He would die and rise again, and He did. He said He’s going to come again and receive us unto Himself, that where He is, we will be also. This is what we’re watching for now, and we know it will also be fulfilled, as prophesied.
Friends, we have a Divine reason to celebrate this great season, and we have a reason to have true peace and joy. May we be those feet that bring this Message of Life, Love, Peace and Hope to somebody today.
