Earth is in a great moral divide and there is no middle ground. It is a precursor to God’s judgment. Before He judged Egypt, He separated Israel. Before He judged ancient Babylon, He called His people to “flee out of the midst! Deliver everyone his own soul: do not be cut off in her lawlessness!” (Jeremiah 51:6).
God calls us to be separate from the world’s sins, and to follow Him alone as our Authority. This is called ‘holiness’… “Come out from among them, says the Lord, and do not touch anything unclean, and I will receive you, and will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. Therefore, having these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God” (2 Corinthians 6:17-7:1).
To “perfect” holiness, means ‘putting into action’ what we profess. Are we crucified and risen with Christ? Then what participation has light with darkness? The Bible says, “Have no fellowship (participation) with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather rebuke them” (Ephesians 5:11).
Prior to God’s final judgment on the Babylon of our day, He calls out: “Come out of her, My people, that you do not partake of her sins, so that you will not receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to Heaven, and God has remembered her lawless deeds… therefore, her plagues shall come in one day – death, mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who judges her” (Revelation 18:4-8).
Knowing God’s fiery judgment will come as thief in the night, the Bible exclaims… “What kind of people ought you to be then, in all holy conduct and godliness!” Amen! Holy ground is safe ground.
