“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”
(Galatians 4:4, 5)
God has a timetable that has been intricately woven into the fabric of history. He decides when one chapter ends and another begins. And His timing is always Perfect.
When Jesus left the glories of Heaven to enter earth, clothed in human flesh, who would’ve ever thought He’d come as a vulnerable infant? But He knew exactly what He was doing. A stopwatch had started counting... 33 years would be given to this chapter. A chunk of precious time for the world to experience His love and goodness, and His great sacrifice for our sins. Would the world respond in love and thankfulness, or carry on as though He never came?
This question is the question of all of our lifetimes. Nothing else matters. Either we are confronted with His righteousness versus our own unrighteousness, and our need for a Savior, and we come to Him in faith (becoming His sons and daughters), or we live according to our own desires, being “lovers of self more than lovers of God.”
There is yet another “fullness of time” that is nearing. The age of Grace that beckons to each one to come to Jesus while there is still time, is soon going to end. May we use this Christmas season to give gifts that draw others to God. And may we pray fervently for hearts to be turned to Him. Time is short.
Friends, we know from Scripture that our redemption is drawing near. And once again, it will be at just the perfect Time.
