Lot lived in Sodom and Gomorrah among great sin and the Scriptures tell us that “his righteous soul was vexed by all the lawless deeds he saw and heard.” (2 Peter 2:8)
King David was also tormented by all that he saw wrong in his world, even in himself, and writes… “Why my soul are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your Hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.” (Psalm 42:11)
If we are not careful our souls can ride the waves of every low and terrible story and then rise back up with a little encouragement, leaving us feeling tossed about and weary of it all. But God calls us to lift our souls into His care, into His Loving Hands, and view the world from there. Oh, dear ones, how it changes everything!
“Arise my soul and lift your eyes
To Him whose glory fills the skies
Whose blood has opened paradise
Arise, my soul, arise
Arise my soul and do not fear
The troubles of these mortal years
For Jesus reigns and He is here
Arise, my soul, arise
Arise my soul and lift your voice
For Christ by death has death destroyed
Now you are bound for endless joy
Arise, my soul, arise.”

Friends, tuck your lives, your hearts, your souls into the Loving Hands that died for you.
For the “Blessing of the Lord makes us rich, and brings no sorrow with it.” (Proverbs 10:22)
