“As the whirlwind passes, so the wicked is no more: but the righteous have/are an everlasting Foundation.” – (Proverbs 10:25)
We’ve all seen the destruction of hurricanes and tornadoes, but they are short-lived. In Christ we are offered such strength that no whirlwind or storm can remove us from our Foundation. All around us the storms are brewing. The sea and waves of humanity are roaring. The wicked threaten to overthrow the upright – but Jesus gave us His Word that those who have placed their faith in Him cannot be overthrown…
“Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man, who built his house upon The Rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded upon The Rock. And everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house – and it fell: and great was the fall of it!” (Matthew 7:24-27).
Only Jesus can lead us in triumph through this world in confidence, security, and stability. Only His Word gives us promises proven by His power and guaranteed by His blood. Every place we go, and all the people who cross our paths each day, need to see this unshakeable and cheerful confidence of coming good.
Just as the Lord told Isaiah to hold tightly to His Word, to walk in victorious faith, and to be a beacon of hope and light to those walking in darkness, may our lives and speech draw others to safety found only on the Everlasting Rock.
