Jesus said that one of the signs of the last days is lawlessness, just as we’re witnessing. He said, “Because lawlessness shall ABOUND, the love of many will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12). He was talking about the world, not His people.
The Bible reminds us that through Christ, “where sin abounded, grace did much more abound” (Romans 5:20). It wasn’t just when He walked on earth. These are daily truths in our lives. The promise of His power and nature is given those who have received Him… “the love of God is poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit who is given to us” (Romans 5:5).
If we remember that the first century Christians triumphed under intense persecution, then verses like these jump off the pages… “The Lord make you to increase and ABOUND in love one toward another, and toward all… ABOUND with thanksgiving… now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may ABOUND in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit… be steadfast, unmovable, always ABOUNDING in the work of the Lord, for you know your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
The Lord’s promise is that “as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Him” (1 Corinthians 1:5). No evil powers, nor lawlessness of our generations, can stop God’s work in the lives of those who love Him… “God is able to make all grace ABOUND toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may ABOUND…
To every good work!” Press on!
